Hello Bulldog Families!

Welcome to another busy week at Bexley Elementary School! This week is Red Ribbon Week, and students will be learning about the importance of healthy choices, especially staying drug free. Students can enjoy dress up days, and more information is shared in the attached flyer. There is also a poster contest (flyer attached), with the theme of "Make a Difference, Be a Hero, Stay Drug Free”. Posters are due by Thursday to our counselor, Ms. J. Barnes.

This week, we also have our first Early Release Day of the school year on Wednesday, October 28. Early dismissal will begin at 1:50 pm. Our daily schedule is adjusted, so there will be no family lunches on Wednesday. We encourage students to remain at school all day, however, if necessary, early check outs must occur before 1:00 pm. Please submit any changes of dismissal by 12:30 pm.

Join us this week for our PTO Halloween Bingo night in our cafeteria. This is a free family event of fun, and spooky and cute costumes are encouraged! Doors open at 5:15 pm for the 5:30 pm event. Please RSVP here.

We will end the week with our second annual Vocabulary Parade on Friday at 10:00 am. Families who would like to watch are invited to park in the main parking lot after arrival, and follow the signs to enter through the pedestrian gate on the left side of the school. From there, staff will direct families to safe watch locations around the bus loop. More information is available in the attached flyer.

Thank you to everyone who engaged in the first district family survey of this school year. Overall, participants indicated that Bexley is a safe, welcoming, academically strong school, with consistently positive comments about teachers, front office staff, and overall culture. We still have room for improvement, and later this week, we will share more specifics about how we are responding to your feedback. You will have a chance to participate in this district survey again in the Spring.
