Hello Bexley Bulldog Families,

This week is the last week of quarter 2, with five days of learning left before winter break! We know the joy of the season is in the air and we appreciate your continued support with keeping your child’s routine consistent for this last week.

FAST testing will continue this week for our K-5 students. Please remind and encourage your child to show what they know on their reading, math, and for some, science assessments. In Friday folders this week, you will receive your child’s mid-year FAST Family report. This is a great time to plan to connect with your child’s teacher in January to better understand how they use these reports to plan for your child’s learning. The state testing window does not end until the end of January, so your child’s percentile may change at that time. Your child’s score level will not change, but because the percentile is a measure comparing all Florida students that are the same age as your child, the percentile may adjust when the entire state has completed their student testing. We thank you for your support as we learn this new state progress monitoring tool along with you. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Third, fourth, and fifth grade parents, due to the science showcase project extension, we are going to postpone our Science Showcase Parent Night until January instead of hosting this evening this week. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to reviewing the class submissions this week!
Tomorrow night at 6:00pm, we have our monthly PTO meeting in our Rec Center, or media center. All are welcome to join as the PTO begins planning our spring events.

Running of the Bulldogs is this week for many of our students. Please remember to dress your child in comfortable clothes and sneakers on PE days this week.

As a result of our missed hurricane days, starting in January, all schools will add 4 minutes to the beginning of the student school day. This means that our tardy bell will ring at 9:36am. This is four minutes earlier than first semester. We will begin opening car doors 9:16am to move our car line quickly and provide time for students to receive breakfast before going to class. Please mark this change on your calendar.

In January, your child’s art, music, and PE days may change. Our teachers will be sharing their new days with students and parents as soon as the new scheduled is finalized.

As this will be my last community connection before the new year, on behalf of our Bexley staff, we wish each and every one of you a happy holiday and fabulous winter break! Thank you for brining JOY to our school family! We love our Bexley families and we are growing, now serving over 1200 students!

We THANK YOU for your partnership and can’t wait to see our Bulldogs, on time, tomorrow morning.
Believe. Engage. Succeed. Teamwork. Integrity. Equity for every Bulldog, every day!
