Hello Bexley Families,

This is Mrs. Boylan, your child’s principal with this week’s school community connection. This week we celebrate Halloween and Red Ribbon Week at Bexley! Tomorrow, your child may wear his/her Halloween costume to school or bring it to put on over his/her clothes for our 3:00 schoolwide story book parade. We ask that our students dress as their favorite book characters because our book characters teach our students great lessons about working through challenges or events to meet their goals and succeed. Per Friday’s school message, this parade is for our students and staff this year and we will consider ways, as a large school, to include our parents next year. We will be sure to take photos and post those that have consent for us to post and share. Please remember that masks and toy weapons are not permitted at school and they will be taken to be picked up by a parent if these items come to school. Thank you for your support!

For Red Ribbon week, please remind your child on Tuesday to wear his/her favorite sports team jersey to symbolize our commitment to team up against drugs.

On Wednesday, we have an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 1:50pm, so please prepare for your child to come home early on Wednesday. Early release days are also our HOUSE days! Your child may wear his/her house shirt or their house color on Wednesday. Early release days also mean we have a Bexley Spirit Night. On Wednesday, join us at Chipotle for dinner and remember to say that you are from Bexley Elementary school! We thank you in advance for supporting our new partnership with Chipotle.

On Thursday we have picture make-up day if your child missed our fall picture day. It is also pajama day, so students are welcome to wear their PJs to school to symbolize that our choices lead to fulfilling our dreams for the future!

Last but not least, on Friday, we ask that all students and staff wear RED to create a “sea of red” on our campus, symbolizing our pledge to stay drug free!
Looking ahead, starting next week, our National Elementary Honor Society will have a food drive. Starting next Monday, we will have an area in the front office for you to donate canned goods and other non-perishable food for families in need. Next Monday is also our 2nd grade chorus concert and next Tuesday is our Panda Express Spirit Night.

Mark your calendars for our annual winter festival event sponsored by our PTO on December 2nd. This year our event theme will be around Holidays in Whoville. We can’t wait to have some fun with our families on December 2nd!

We look forward to seeing our Bulldogs, on time, tomorrow morning. We THANK YOU for your partnership and support each day at Bexley Elementary.
Believe. Engage. Succeed. Teamwork. Integrity. Equity for every Bulldog, every day!
