Hello Bulldog Families,

This week is BLUE week, October begins and we are nearing the end of the first quarter of the school year. We want to thank you in advance for your support at home with your child’s education. We value your engagement!

Tuesday is FALL Picture Day! Make sure your child is dressed their BEST and ready to smile for the camera on Tuesday. 🙂

This Wednesday is an early release day which means our students will be dismissed at 1:50pm. Our teachers then engage in professional development so please make arrangements for your child to be picked up in our car loop or met at the bus stop early on Wednesday, this week. Early release days are also our HOUSE days. Make sure your child wears his/her HOUSE shirt or HOUSE color on Wednesday!

Wednesday night is our first semester Family Conference Night. This doesn’t mean that all conferences will be held on this night, but it is a reminder for all parents to request a conference for this first semester if one hasn’t already been scheduled by your child’s teacher. You are 50% of your child’s success in reading, writing, math, and science, so we value your engagement!

Grab dinner at Chick-Fil-A on Wednesday night between 4:00-8:00 and a portion of the proceeds will come back to Bexley. Order online and provide the password : Bulldogs. Order in person and let them know that you are supporting Bexley Bulldogs!

Next week, starting October 9th, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will begin our annual Science Showcase learning unit. Look for more information to come home regarding the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade expectations for this year’s Science Showcase.

The first quarter of this school year ends on October 13th. Make sure your parent portal is up-to-date so you can view your child’s first quarter report card. Please make sure your phone number, email, and emergency contacts are also updated so we can communicate with you.

Mark your calendars: there is no school for students on Monday, October 16th, as this is a teacher planning day.

Last but not least, please remember that your child’s regular attendance and time in school helps to make every minute count for learning. We will not dismiss students for early dismissal beyond 3:00pm and any change of dismissals must be submitted through our website. Safety is our first priority and we thank you for your cooperation.

We look forward to another wonderful week with our Bulldogs at Bexley and look forward to seeing them, on time, tomorrow morning!

Believe, Engage, Succeed, Teamwork, Integrity, and Equity for every Bulldog, every day!

Mrs. Michele Boylan, Principal
