Hello Bulldog Families,

This week is Family Bingo Night and also a night to visit our spring book fair! On Tuesday night our book fair will be open from 5:00-7:00pm. Stop by before or after you join us in the cafeteria as our PTO sponsors a family space BINGO night! Our very own, assistant principal, Lynn Albert will be calling the numbers so it’s a guaranteed good time. 🙂 Be sure to RSVP on our Bexley Facebook page, or here: https://bit.ly/bexleypto  if you haven’t already!

This week is the last week to join your child for lunch on campus. Starting next week our Bulldogs will begin taking the FAST ELA PM3 assessment. 5th graders will test on Monday, 4th graders on Tuesday, 3rd graders on Wednesday, 2nd graders on Thursday, and 1st graders on Friday. Our Kindergarteners will take the FAST PM3 assessment the following Monday, May 8th. Once all of our students have taken the ELA assessment, the same rotation will begin for Math and our 5th graders will take the Science state assessment on May 9th and 10th. Please reach out to your child’s teacher for specific testing days for your child’s grade level.

On Tuesday, all families will receive a letter with some note cut-outs so that you can send in encouraging notes for your child as they show what they know on these end of year assessments. Please check your child’s backpack on Tuesday as we wanted to give families plenty of time to return these before testing begins. We know your notes will put a smile on your child’s face!

Thursday is the last day of extended school day. If your child is in our extended school day program, please remember that our program ends and your child will be coming home at normal time on Monday, May 1st.

Starting May 1st, our PE department is running the Kid Heart Challenge fundraiser. Any money donated will go directly to the American Heart Association and all money collected is take online. You will find a flyer come home this week and our teachers will also share this information on their Dojo accounts. We want to thank our PE coaches for leading this cause and promoting healthy heart habits in PE, too.

This week is Administrative Professionals Day! If you visit our front office this week, please be sure to say an extra thank you to our wonderful office staff. We couldn’t do the work we do at Bexley without this amazing team! May 8th is Staff Appreciation Week and our admin team and PTO have some wonderful plans to show our appreciation to our staff. Keep these dates in mind as this may also be a great time to thank your child’s teacher or our staff. We love our Bexley family!

The last two weeks of May are filled with end-of-course exams in art, music, and PE and celebrating our 5th graders as they move on to middle school. Tickets for the 5th grade ceremonies have already gone home so please contact your child’s teacher if you have not received your tickets. Our ceremonies will be taking place on different mornings the week of May 22nd and we look forward to celebrating with our families at that time.

We look forward to seeing our Bulldogs, on time, tomorrow morning! Believe. Engage. Succeed. Teamwork. Integrity. Equity for every Bulldog, every day!
