Hello Bulldog Families,
First we want to congratulate our All County Chorus and instrumental teams that did an amazing job the last two weekends! We are so proud of our Bulldog musicians and can see that they have musical talent that will lead to a successful future ahead!

We have received some questions regarding the cell tower that is being constructed on our campus and I wanted to include some information for all to be aware. Most importantly, this construction is protected and clear of student play areas. Even though it looks in close proximity to our field play areas, we worked with the company and our district to ensure temporary fencing and space separated the spaces for the safety of all students and staff. The cell tower has been in the works for several years now. Back in 2018, the school district put out a request for proposal for a cell tower on the campus. Our district received three proposals and chose Vertex to be the company to provide the cell tower. The BES principal at the time communicated with the parents and an informational parent meeting was held on October 22, 2019. On October 29, 2019, the lease agreement was presented at the school board meeting for consideration and approval. All of our school board meetings are noticed, open to the public, and offer opportunities for anyone to speak to agenda items or provide public comment on non-agenda items. The lease being approved, the cell tower company then proceeded with seeking the needed approvals from Pasco County. This process also includes approval at one or more publicly noticed meetings. If you have any further questions regarding this cell tower, let me know and I can lead you to the right district staff to answer any other questions you may have.

This Tuesday evening, starting at 6:00 we will be inducting our National Elementary Honor Society students. We look forward to celebrating these school leaders and all around wonderful Bulldogs.

This Thursday is FIELD DAY for our students and there are some slight changes in our week. First, lunchtime visitors are welcome on Monday and Friday this week as opposed to Thursday. We use our outdoor dining area for transitioning grade levels of students during field day so this area will not be open for lunch visitors. We do however, welcome you on Monday and Friday for this week if you wish to have lunch with your child.
For field day, please remember that your child must wear sneakers and socks to participate. Apply sunscreen prior to coming to school and make sure your child’s water bottle is clearly marked with his/her name. Hats and/or sunglasses are welcome and we look forward to a fun day of outside activities with our Bulldogs!

Save the date for a fun-filled month of March!

First, March 7th is Spring picture day and also Chipotle Family Spirit Night.

Then, join us on March 9th, from 5:00-6:30 for Books & Donuts with Grownups. We want to celebrate literacy with our families and also support how you can all support reading at home. All parents and children, PreK-5th grade are welcome to attend and explore literacy stations together. Bring a favorite book, a favorite stuffed animal, blanket or beach chair and prepare to learn more about reading, have fun reading together outdoors, and enjoy a donut together, too! We hope to see our families and Bulldogs on March 9th anytime between 5:00-6:30 on our Bexley campus.
