Hello Bexley Bulldog Families,
This week and the next 10 days are full of learning and fun at Bexley!

First, I want to give a huge shout out to our staff and amazing PTO! Last week we had our first Bexley Family STEM Night and our learning design coaches and teachers made the evening meaningful and fun for our families! Science, technology, engineering, and math are such an important part of the future for our Bulldogs. The coding, drone painting, bridge building, and the other investigations planned for our families represented the skills we know we need to teach to help prepare our Bulldogs for their future careers. If you did not attend this year, don’t worry, more to come! This week or next your child will experience an Hour of Code and engage in a coding experience in the classroom. We also plan to make this event annual for our families.
Another shout out to our amazing music teachers, Laura Melfi and Travis Damato for another fabulous grade level concert this past week. Grade level concerts and this week’s chorus and orff holiday concert would not be possible without their hard work!

Last but not least, thank you to our PTO for another amazing winter family event this Friday! Holidays in Whoville was so much fun for our school families. From Cindy Lou Who, the Grinch, to the music and snow, every detail made the night fantastic. Thank you to ALL parents that helped make this event come to life!

This week our students will begin taking their FAST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking) mid-year progress monitoring assessment. For the next two weeks your child may be taking one of the assessments assigned to his/her grade level. We attempt to have 100% of students take these assessments so we can help communicate your child’s progress and also plan forward for support and enrichment for every child based on the date we collect. Before the last day of winter break you will receive your child’s scores from his/her teacher. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
This Wednesday is an early release day and your child will be dismissed at 1:50pm. Remind your child to wear his/her HOUSE colors and please be prepared for your child to be home from school at 1:50pm on Wednesday. This is our last early release day for this school year. In addition, an early release day means time for our dual Bexley PTO Spirit Night. Starting at 2:00, take your child to Delectable Delights for a treat and plan dinner at Brick City, starting at 4:00.

This Thursday Night is our chorus and orff holiday concert. We can’t wait to hear their beautiful music. All are invited to get in the spirit with our Bexley chorus and orff on Thursday night, starting at 6:00pm in our cafeteria.

The next two weeks are full of excitement for this winter holiday season. We thank you for your support in reminding your child(ren) that we are committed to learning through the Friday before winter break. This is a time of important focus on continued learning and showing what students know and have learned during the first semester. It is best to keep your routines in tact so students have sleep and their brains are ready for their school day. Thank you, as always, for your support!

Believe, Engage, Succeed, Teamwork, Integrity, and Equity for every Bulldog, every Day!
