Hello Bexley Bulldog Families,
First, we want to wish our families a Happy Labor Day and remember that there is no school for students, tomorrow Monday, September 5th.
This Wednesday is our first early release day and students will be dismissed at 1:50pm. Please prepare to greet your child at the bus stop or pick up your child at Hiker/Biker or in the car line at 1:50pm on Wednesday.
Early release days are also our Bexley HOUSE days! To promote a connected and collaborative culture at Bexley, this year we are implementing a “house” system that is based on our collective BESTIES commitments. We hope that this initiative will help reinforce what we stand for and also make a big school feel smaller by connecting our staff and students across our campus. Your child was assigned to one of our houses in an engaging way in their classroom during the first weeks of school. Ask your child which house, he/she is in! Our houses are:
BELIEVE – YELLOW house
ENGAGE – ORANGE house
SUCCEED – RED house
TEAMWORK – GREEN house
INTEGRITY – BLUE house
EQUITY – PURPLE house
This week you will find a HOUSE shirt order form in your child’s backpack. You may order your child a shirt for his/her house days or be ready to have your child wear the color that his/her house represents. This Wednesday we will host our first house meetings, so make sure your child is wearing his/her house color. 🙂 We look forward to a fun day celebrating our BESTIES. Each house is unique, but together we are BESTIES!
Finally, early release days mean we have a Bexley Spirit Night. This Wednesday, join us at Burger Fi for Bexley spirit night. Don’t forget to mention that you are from Bexley anytime between 3:30-9:00pm.
On Tuesday, 9/13 join us at Panera Bread and don’t forget our first family event on Friday, 9/16 on our Bexley campus. On Friday, 9/16 our PTO has planned our first Backyard Movie Night. Gates will open at 7:00pm and the movie will begin promptly at 7:15pm. More details about parking and specific location coming soon.
We look forward to seeing our Bulldogs, on time, on Tuesday morning!
