Hello Bexley Bulldog Families,
This week is about parent engagement, school spirit and getting ready for our Fall Boosterthon Fundraiser!
First, if you haven’t reviewed your student’s progress report for the 1st quarter, they are available on myPascoConnect in your child’s myStudent account or in the parent portal. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions regarding your child’s first quarter progress. October 14th is the end of quarter 1 so now is the time to see how you can support your child’s learning progress from home.
Please remember that we are no longer a no homework school. This year we changed our homework policy to ask our families to help support a weekly homework goal. This homework goal includes scheduling time for your child to read at home, complete Lexia lessons, and at least two Zearn lessons per week. We believe that your parent engagement and support will help our Bulldogs progress in reading and math. We thank you for your help!
Speaking of parent engagement, we have connected with our feeder pattern schools and will be hosting a Family Engagement event around assessment on Tuesday, October 4th, between 6:00-8:30pm at Rushe Middle School. Together with our middle and high school administration teams and instructional coaches, our hope is to provide our parents with a clear vision of how we use the new state assessments to support and enrich our students, with the ultimate goal of preparing our students for a successful path in college, career, and/or life. This is an adult-focused event, however, you may bring your children. Save the date for October 4th, starting at 6:00PM at Rushe Middle School for our first collaborative community family engagement event!
Today is the last day to order your child his/her HOUSE shirt on Rycor. HOUSE shirts will be worn by our entire staff and students on early release Wednesdays. Remember to ask your child if he/she is in house BELIEVE, ENGAGE, SUCCEED, TEAMWORK, INTEGRITY, or EQUITY. We look forward to using these collective commitments to connect our students and staff across our campus!
Also, the Bulldog Spirit Wear online boutique is open until 9/25/22 at 11:59pm. The link to order is on our school website under the PTO dropdown menu. You can click the Spirit Wear paw on the Bexley Elementary website and also access the boutique from the flyer with a QR code that went home in this week’s Friday folder.
Finally, this year’s PTO fall fundraiser is getting started and we need your help. Please register your child at MYBOOSTER.COM. This Boosterthon fundraiser will be a Dace-a-Thon at Bexley. By creating an account and sharing it with friends and family, you can help your child earn pledges for the 30-minute Dance-a-thon in October. Check out the flyer with details that went home in your child’s Friday folder this week. Thank you for your support!
School instruction begins promptly at 9:40am at BES each day. Our car doors open at 9:20 and gates open at 9:25am. We look forward to seeing our Bulldogs, on time, tomorrow morning!
